NUNEZ COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRACTICAL NURSING

Welcome to Nunez Community College Practical Nursing Program

Nunez Practical Nursing program has a unique, accelerated curriculum. Once a student has completed the prerequisite courses, the Practical Nursing program is approximately twelve (12) months long. Once in the PN program, students attend class or clinical on a busy forty (40) hours a week schedule. Classroom hours are typically 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Clinical times will vary depending on the clinical site. Our semesters align with the college catalog and does allow for breaks and holidays.

Successful completion of this program qualifies the graduate to take the National Council Licensure Examination for state licensure as a practical nurse (LPN). An LPN provides general nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, licensed physician, dentist or optometrist.

Classes begin in the fall and spring. All prerequisite classes must be completed by May for all fall enrollment, and by August for spring enrollment. This is a limited enrollment program.

Please see our updated prerequisite requirements found under the Admission Requirements link.
