Nunez Community College

A Message from the Chancellor

Chancellor Thomas R. WarnerWelcome to Nunez Community College! As Nunez’s chancellor, I look forward every day to meeting new people and continuing to serve our community through our programs. We hope you will find the information you are seeking on our website, but encourage you to visit our campus in Chalmette, Louisiana, when you have the opportunity.

Nunez currently offers more than 17 academic programs, including specialized training and continuing education courses on our campus, as well as various locations in the New Orleans metropolitan area.I am excited about our partnerships with area industry and four-year universities to offer fully-transferable, industry-driven curriculum and programs to our students. The College also offers some of the latest, cutting-edge technology; ultra-modern training facilities; and innovative learning options.

Nunez is committed to facilitating student success, and has recently been named one of the fastest growing community colleges in the nation by the Community College Times.

The College continues to build community partnerships with our K-12 partners, as evidenced by our partnerships with over 20 area high schools and our extremely successful Dual Enrollment Program, providing post-secondary educational opportunities to high school students throughout our region.

Nunez has been recognized nationally through such Federal Grant programs and initiatives as the Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant to provide enhanced services, an Entrepreneurship Center, and a Hospitality Center on the College’s campus.

Credit for the College’s accomplishments can be attributed to the outstanding students, faculty, staff, and foundation board that make Nunez the place where we are "…Changing Minds!”

I look forward to greeting you on campus and to continuing to serve St. Bernard Parish and the Greater New Orleans region, as we build and grow our community.

Thomas R. Warner, Ed.D.
