Nunez Community College Library provides its faculty, students, Friends of the Library and the community with a wide selection of books, periodicals, VCR and cassette tapes, government documents and archival material. Its collection consists of over 30,000 volumes; about 300 current periodicals; 600 VCR and cassette tapes and over 800 subject areas in the vertical file.
Books are arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System in an open shelf format. Special areas are set aside for the reference books, children's books, state documents, and the law library.
Periodicals are arranged alphabetically by title. Approximately half of the collection is in a microform format. Current editions of periodicals are on display shelves.
Media and Archival material are kept in closed stack areas.
A current Nunez Community College I.D. card with a valid barcode is required to borrow materials. A student I.D. card can be obtained from Student Affairs. Students are not allowed to check out material when school is not in session, but they are welcome to use the library whenever it is open.
Faculty and Staff:
All faculty and staff must have current I.D. cards with valid barcodes to check out materials.
Students and Staff:
Each patron may borrow a maximum of 5 items, which may include not more than 2 media items. These are usually borrowed on a two-week loan, and if these items are not placed on hold, then they may be renewed.
Faculty may borrow up to 10 items usually on a semester basis. These items must be returned at the end of each semester, but upon request by returning full-time faculty members, materials may be renewed for the following semester. All items borrowed by adjunct faculty must be returned at the end of the current semester.
