Art entreprenuers learn how to license music and copyright from local expert - Monday, February 17, 2014

The Entrepreneurship Center at Nunez Community College is hosting "How to License Your Music & Protect Your Copyright,” featuring guest speaker, Jenni Davis, author of The Little Book of Music Licensing, on Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Jenni Davis, a self-described "musician, cook, author, and teacher” holds a BA in Music and an MA in Arts Administration, "has sung in loud obnoxious rock bands, has released her first single, has written a book on crafting and a book on music licensing…with another on business planning for musicians in the works,” and volunteers at the Tipitina’s Music Office Co-Op. She is also a guest lecturer at UNO on copyright, licensing and performance royalties each semester.

This is the Entrepreneurship Center’s most recent in an "Arts & Entrepreneurship Spring Series” designed for small- and future- business owners with plans for start-ups in the arts. The Entrepreneurship Center’s workshops are funded through the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s TAACCCT initiative.

The next workshop will feature renowned restaurateur, Dickie Brennan.
