  • ELL: English Language Learning (ESL)

Get Ready for the Spring 1 Term (January-March) 2024

HSE Orientation Sessions:

Location: St. Bernard Campus - Nunez Kane Building

  • Monday, December 9
    • 1:00pm-3:30pm Afternoon classes Orientation
  • Tuesday, January 7
    • 1:00pm-3:30pm Afternoon classes Orientation
  • Wednesday, January 8
    • 9:30am-12:00pm Morning classes Orientation
    • 5:00pm-7:30pm Evening Classes Orientation
  • Tuesday, January 14
    • 10:00am-12:30pm Morning classes Orientation
    • 5:30pm-8:00pm Evening classes Orientation

Students will return the following week to complete the TABE skills assessment to see which skill types are best to focus on for learning.

Registration sessions for (ELL) English language learners (St. Bernard Campus - Nunez Kane Building):

  • Monday, January 6, 9am-10am & 5pm-6pm
  • Tuesday, January 7, 9am-10am & 5pm-6pm

Students will return a few days later to complete the TABE skills assessment to see which skill types are best to focus on for learning.

English Language Learning Courses Offered:

Beginner to Pre-Intermediate Course
The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays. The course is tailored for students ranging from low beginners to pre-intermediate levels. The course focuses on an array of skill sets, including improving listening comprehension and mock job interview preparation.

Civic Engagement Course
The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The course is tailored for students ranging from low to high intermediate levels who are interested in learning more about the Naturalization Test. Please note that this course is only offered at specific times of the year.
