Pelican Prep: Math Accelerator Program

Want to save money and avoid taking an extra math class in the fall semester? If you do, Nunez is excited to offer a new, FREE program to incoming students! The Pelican Prep Math Accelerator has been created to provide you with extra support and preparation for your fall-semester math course. You will also learn what it takes to be a successful college student overall.

Students enrolled in the program will meet with a math-prep instructor via Microsoft Teams twice a week for six weeks over the summer, and they are only committed to spending two days in-person on Nunez’s campus with the Office of Student Success.

In a no-pressure, supportive environment, participants will spend most of their time building their math skills and getting ready for a successful first semester at Nunez. Currently, all Nunez students without an ACT score, an ACT score below 19, or an Accuplacer score below 253 are required to take an extra, three-hour co-requisite course alongside their regular math course, but students who successfully complete the Pelican Prep Program will not be required to take the co-requisite course, saving them time and money in the fall. We hope you sign up for this special opportunity, and, of course, we haven’t forgotten to get a little Nunez swag for program participants! You’ll have to become one to find out what that is.

• Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30am to 6:45pm (In-person)
