Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Individuals interested in training for a new career may be eligible for assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Available services are based on need determination and other criteria and may include; tuition assistance (up to $9,000 per program), books allowance, uniforms/supplies, transportation, and other supportive services in addition to career guidance and employment connections.  Assistance availability is accessed directly through Workforce Center in your parish of residence:

• Residents of St. Bernard, Plaquemines, or St. Tammany, services available through Tri-Parish Works, located on campus in the Kane Technology Building, Room A-122.  Complete the Online Pre-screening Application or call 504-278-6214 for an appointment.
• Residents of Jefferson, visit www.jeffparish.net/departments/JeffersonParishAmericanJobCenter
• Residents of Orleans, visit www.nola.gov/economic-development/workforce-development/job1/job-seekers/
• All other residents can visit www.laworks.net to find the Center nearest you.
