Recruiter and Enrollment Counselor
Job Description:
The recruiter and enrollment counselor will be involved with planning, organizing, and implementing strategies and activities geared toward prospective students and enrollment. In addition, he or she will be involved with prospective and current students’ educational records (including all aspects of admissions, financial aid, and registrar) and counsel the student on his or her next steps in the enrollment process while delivering the highest level of customer service. The recruiter and enrollment counselor will be organized and detail-oriented and will work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. The position functions in accordance with the philosophy and mission of the College.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ administrative work experience required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, computer software, etc.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced office environment
- Positive attitude, patience, high energy, and enthusiasm for helping others
- Willingness to travel within the region for recruiting and registration activities
- Ability to work some evening and weekend hours
- Work experience in an educational setting preferred
Job Duties:
The Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions & Dual Enrollment and is responsible for the following:
- Assists with the development and timely implementation of a recruitment communications program for applicants and enrolled students, including electronic and face-to-face strategies
- Conducts recruiting and outreach initiatives for the College, including items such as campus tours, open houses, orientations, K-12 school partnerships, etc.
- Maintains a shared recruiting calendar of events and a cohesive recruiting plan
- Serves as a representative of the College at high school, business, and community events as requested by the Director, Dean, or Chancellor
- Delivers presentations on enrollment and financial aid to student groups, parents, other College staff, and external groups such as high school, community based organizations, and others requesting presentations
- Counsels and responds to prospective and current students/families regarding the admissions process, financial aid eligibility, aid programs, packaging policies, and financial planning
- Assists students by providing in-depth financial aid information to students and/or parents concerning the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and by helping students successfully complete the financial aid process
- Assists the Director and Dean with other initiative such as the Dual Enrollment Program, Student Activities, and scholarships
- Serves as the SGA Advisor
- Assists the Director and Dean with various admissions processing functions in accordance with LA Board of Regents, LCTCS System, and college polices, including but not limited to processing admissions applications and documents, admissions data clean-up, Clery Act mandates, applying specific enrollment attributes and tracking of Veteran and Adult Ed students, internal and external audits, etc.
- Serves as the Admissions designee in the absence of the Director of Admissions and Dual Enrollment
- Works with the Director of Admissions and Dual Enrollment, Registrar, Dean of Student Affairs, and Financial Aid Office to ensure that all operations are conducted in the most effective and efficient manner possible
- Assures that protected information is kept confidential
Salary Range: $40,000-45,000 depending
