Position: Assistant Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success

Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success will assist the Vice Chancellor for Education, Training and Student Success to create a more unified approach to academic excellence and student success. This leader will be key in promoting a college-wide climate consistent with Nunez’s values: Student-centered, Teaching and Learning, Caring, Integrity and Innovation. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with vision across all aspects of the college. They will serve as the key project manager for institutional-wide projects within the division.

Required Qualifications and KSAs:

  • An earned Master’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience working in higher education administration or teaching.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership in areas such as academic planning, program development, advising, student orientation, workforce development, and student life.
  • Demonstrated experience serving a diverse, to include but not limited to, adult learner and first-generation students, which includes evidence-based practices for the promotion of student success.
  • Experience working with a diverse faculty, staff and student body and an ability to promote a campus climate that supports Nunez’s values and encourages equity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, pedagogy, student learning outcomes, assessment, distance learning, integrated learning, use of technology in instruction and institutional research.
  • Experience collaborating with workforce development programs and an understanding of the intersection of workforce and academic programs and initiatives such as the non- credit to credit pipeline.
  • Demonstrated data management skills.
  • Knowledgeable of industry-based certifications and development of new certifications
  • Proven experience with SACSCOC accreditation and reaffirmation.

Preferred Qualifications and KSAs:

  • Success in supporting college strategic and divisional plans; while ensuring continuous and measurable improvement in student life cycle benchmarks to include enrollment, retention and persistence; completion and post-completion success; effective resource allocation in alignment with strategic initiatives and operational needs.
  • Experience establishing and/or improving a strong collaborative relationship between academic and student services.
  • Experience with Perkins Grant funding.
  • Relevant experience with workforce programming and delivering industry-based credentials

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Vice-Chancellor in planning, organizing, and directing the operations, staff, and budgeting needs of the college in support of the following goals: increasing the number of students who earn college credit credentials, increasing the rate of transfer to bachelor's degree programs following community college graduation, and drastically improving outcomes for students requiring remediation.
  • Assists Vice Chancellor and Deans in semester course scheduling, hiring of faculty and contracts.
  • Assists Deans and faculty in curriculum development.
  • Responsible for identifying, establishing and cultivating cooperative relationships with industry partners, community-based programs, organizations, and community leaders, to strategically assist with executing outreach trainings and initiatives.
  • Serves as the division liaison for all applicable grants, including but not limited to Perkins.
  • Provides leadership to the development of class schedules, course catalog and other key academic reports and documents that meet the goals and priorities of the college.
  • Assists in maintaining accreditation requirements for the college and for certain academic programs.
  • Create reports needed for external agencies.
  • Establishes clear standards, goals and outcomes for the Education, Training and Student Success division with corresponding assessment and improvement plans.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice Chancellor or Chancellor.
