Position: Summer Program Assistant
Division: STEAM
Reports To: Director of STEAM

Position Summary
The Summer Program Assistant will work with the Director of STEAM leading students in various activities at various events during the summer.  The Program Assistant Instructor will help the director with one day workshops and full week camps for students in grades K-8.  This program will allow students to participate in various inquiry/STEAM based activities including robotics, Astro Camp, and AI Energy Camp.  This is a temporary, part-time position during the summer with a maximum of 30 hours per week during camp weeks.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months experience working with elementary and middle school students.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Elementary Education or a related field.

Duties and Responsibilities Summary

  • Meet with the Director of STEAM prior to the start of camps/workshops for training.
  • Implementation and coordination of the prepared program and schedule.
  • Assisting with any necessary changes to the program as conflicts arise.
  • Assist with moderating discussions and keeping order during discussions.
  • Supervise the students during camps/workshops.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to represent the school in a professional manner.
