Position: Water & Wastewater Adjunct Instructor
Department: Coastal Studies
Reports to: Program Chair for Coastal Studies & GIS
Position Summary
Nunez Community College is seeking an adjunct (part-time) Water & Wastewater instructor who will prepare, support, and deliver on-campus instruction. The adjunct instructor will also help contribute to curriculum development, assist students with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) credentialing, program assessment, and student advisement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education/Certification
- Water Treatment I Operator Certification
Required Experience
- Three (3) years as a water/wastewater professional
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated success in training or education
- Extensive knowledge of the content area and the ability to teach it effectively
- Effective classroom management skills, including maintaining a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of proper records management
- Knowledge and commitment to institutional mission and values and the ability to work with stakeholders across the college to achieve and uphold them.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/Certification(s)
LDH certifications for:
- Water Treatment I Operator
- Water Production I Operator
- Water Distribution I Operator
- Wastewater Collection I Operator
- Wastewater Treatment I Operator
Experience
- High school or college level teaching
