Nunez Community College Workforce Development is pleased to announce its participation in the Will To Skill program from Venture Global LNG to serve residents in Plaquemines Parish.
Will to Skill is sponsored by Venture Global LNG and provides electrical training for up to 40 parish residents in two cohorts. This program initially provides access to training at no cost to 20 participants. It targets valuable trade certifications for jobs currently in demand in the region.
Selected applicants will receive training for NCCER Core Construction and Electrical I certifications (National Registry) as well as OSHA 10 Safety and HAZMAT/HAZWOPER Awareness certificates. Qualified candidates may also apply for TWIC card sponsorship.
This Venture Global LNG program represents a collaboration with Nunez Community College, Plaquemines Parish Government, Plaquemines Parish School Board and Tri-Parish Works (Louisiana Workforce Commission). Additional funding is provided by a grant through the Louisiana Community & Technical College System.
Two free information sessions will be held on Jan. 13: 9-11 a.m. at the Plaquemines Government Complex Pavilion in Belle Chasse and 6-8 p.m. at the Plaquemines Learning Center in Port Sulphur.
