Nunez Heavy Equipment Course Revs up July 8

The Workforce Division at Nunez Community College will offer its seven-week Heavy Equipment course this summer from July 8-Aug. 22. Cost is $5,500 and completers will be certified on seven pieces of heavy equipment in addition to earning five non-equipment industry-based certifications.

Students can earn certifications on seven work site machines along with five additional industry-based certifications this summer with Nunez Workforce’s Heavy Equipment program.

The seven-week course runs July 8-Aug. 22 and costs $5,500.

Completers will be certified to operate forklifts, telehandlers, aerial and scissor lifts, skid steers, bulldozers, excavators and front payloaders.

In addition to the equipment training, completers will also earn certificates in NCCER Core, NCCER Heavy Equipment Level I, OSHA-10, CPR through the American Heart Association, and Confined Space training.

“Students who complete this program will significantly improve their job prospects and their potential value at any construction-based work site,” said Nunez Workforce Director Brian Gibson.

Spaces are limited for the July 8-Aug. 22 course. Heavy Equipment will be offered again Sept. 9-Oct. 25.
