Emergency Medical Services Education Program at Nunez to Offer EMT and Paramedic Refresher Courses in January

Emergency Medical Services Education students from Nunez Community College participate in a simulated car crash response in October on the Nunez campus. Nunez EMSE will offer EMT and Paramedic refresher courses in January that meet the standards for the National Registry and the Louisiana EMS recertification process.

The Emergency Medical Services Education (EMSE) program at Nunez Community College will offer refresher courses for EMT and Paramedic this January.

The EMT course is scheduled for Jan. 6-8 and will meet from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. The course will cover 20 hours of national curriculum and 10 hours of state and local curriculum. The cost is $300.

The Paramedic course is scheduled for Jan. 6-10 and will meet 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6-9 and 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Jan. 10. The course will cover 30 hours of national curriculum and 15 hours of state and local curriculum. The cost is $450.

“These in-person EMS Refresher courses are state approved meeting both the National Requirements and State Requirements for the EMT and Paramedic,” said EMSE Program Chair Don Mieger. “Nunez's highly experienced EMSE team can provide a thorough refresher that meets the needs for recertification for both the National Registry and the Louisiana EMS recertification process.”

Deadline to register for both courses is Jan. 2.

The courses will be held in the Allied Health Building (Building D) on the Nunez campus.
