The Workforce Division at Nunez Community College will offer its six-week Heavy Equipment course three times this spring and summer. Completers will be certified on seven pieces of heavy equipment in addition to earning five industry-based certifications.
Students will have three chances this spring and summer to earn seven machine operation certifications and five industry-based certifications through Nunez Workforce’s Heavy Equipment program.
The six-week courses begin March 3, April 14 and June 2. Cost is $5,500.
Completers will be certified to operate forklifts, telehandlers, aerial and scissor lifts, skid steers, bulldozers, excavators and front payloaders.
In addition to the equipment training, completers will also earn certificates in NCCER Core, NCCER Heavy Equipment Level I, OSHA-10, CPR through the American Heart Association, and Confined Space training.
“Students who complete this program will significantly improve their job prospects and their potential value at any construction-based work site,” said Nunez Workforce Director Brian Gibson.
